Ursula LeGuin on being betrayed

I tried to watch "Earthsea" on the Sci-Fi channel the other night. I lasted about 10 minutes. As I've written before, Ursula LeGuin understands things about our culture that our priests and politicians seem incapable of seeing. What Sci-Fi did to her book was criminal. And LeGuin has decided not to be silent about the white-washing abomination broadcast with her title.

I generally refuse to watch things if I have loved them in print. I'm probably one of the few Tolkein lovers who refused to watch the Lord of the Ring trilogies, but they can't be ruined for me.
